And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Jim Brown, Donald Sutherland and Ernest Borgnine were in The Dirty Dozen. Jack Klugman was Quincy and also played Oscar Madison in The Odd Couple. The other guy doesn't stand out in my memory.
Warren Oates was everywhere in movies and television from the late '50s through the '70s, especially Westerns. He was one busy dude who played a great heavy and was a favorite of Sam Peckinpah. Unfortunately he died of a heart attack at 53.
Those were the days when actors were Hollywood models of male testosterone, not Hollywood progressive counterculture Twitter twits. What movies would you rather watch: The Dirty Dozen killing Krauts and saving the world from a real nightmare or some twinkle toe flamers pretending to save the planet from a fossil fuel constructed nightmare?

DeleteErnest Borgnine for Marty.
DeleteHe was great in 'Bad Day at Black Rock', wasn't he?
DeleteSure got his ass kicked by one-armed Spencer Tracy.
Donald Sutherland was the only one that was not a veteran.
