Snowload (and a nice firewood load as well)

  1. I love how stacking wood is built into the house. Bet that acts as additional insulation as well.

  2. Come springtime, nobody ever complain that they have too much firewood.

  3. It has been my experience that stacking firewood up against the house is not a really smart idea. Even if it is a log cabin, firewood attracts all sorts of critters. They will eventually get into the house.

    1. Agreed. Woodshed should be separate from living quarters. Ideally with a covered walkway between. That wood is diced pretty fine for cordwood, maybe meant for a cookstove. I like the saying I recently saw on the interwebs: "Stack your cordwood so that a squirrel can squeeze through it, but the cat chasing it can't".

  4. Unoccupied, based on the snow on the chimney.
