    1. Science fiction requires an imagination and patience, it takes awhile for reality to catch up with the writers imagination.
      We now have rocket ships that land on their tails and are reused!

  9. I may be missing something here, but it looks to me like a station in low earth orbit. Gravity shouldn't be an issue.

    2. In an orbit it would act the same as the space station - so yes, gravity is not the issue. What is an issue is the constant atmospheric drag that causes orbital decay and must be countered with thrusters.
