Beware the red zone

  1. I had a friend in college from Brazil. He went home for the summer. We ran into each other at work, heavy equipment manufacturing. He said, Hey! and gave me a hug and kissed me on both cheeks. I stove up, and just stood there. He was very apologetic. Said it was difficult to make the transition in less than a week. I told him no worries, I understood customs are different in our cultures, and next time he wants to mug, shave first.

  2. I hate that whole "man hugging" crap they started about 10 years ago. It's NOT manly. What was wrong with a handshake?

    1. I dunno about Somalia, but I worked with someone who spent some time in Libya and said everyone there was super nice to her.

  6. Touching with the lips is not "kissing". The English language used to have several words for nuances, clear different meanings, ... different approach...., but was simplified (any idiot to be able to have sort of communication) and you're confused.
Love is one of the word; used now by abuse for sexual activity, this action actually involving less and less love...
