And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Artificial Intelligence produced image from the prompt "Orange Challenger chased by three police cars."
I wouldn't be surprised if that's what they drive now.
On a recent trip in CA, I noticed the CHP drives different make & models in many colors. Even the lic plates don't indicate govt owned vehicle anymore.
In the 1980s while walking along a city street, I spied a champagne colored Cadillac parked at the curb. I took a double look at the door. As I walked past, it seemed the door changed color. It was the CHP emblem and words Highway Patrol in a slightly darker tone than the rest of the paint job. It was only by looking straight on that I saw the difference. A step forward or back and I no longer could see the difference.
Even back in the '80s CHP had some pretty trick muscle cars on I-5. They were all white and had the regular CHP door badge on them. IIRC I think they were heavy on Camaros and I think they were called Pursuit Vehicles.
But then that was a long time ago and I'm starting to get old, so I may be misremembering things. I do remember they looked scary, especially when the only time you saw them was on that barren, flat-assed road.
Interesting how the AI tries to combine the design cues of several different year models.... asymmetric grilles and scoops give it a somewhat dreamlike quality.
Those would make good Paint By Numbers

ReplyDeleteHere is the conversation once the Challenger pulls over:
ReplyDeleteOfficer, "Do you know why I pulled you over?"
Challenger driver, "Because I let you?"

ReplyDeleteCalled 'em polar bears back when...
ReplyDeleteQuestion of the day. DID YOU GET AWAY?
ReplyDeleteBear Claw
There's no artificial intelligence; is complex processing, and the result is actually coming from a bunch of programmers software...
