And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

That reminds me – – my father was a teen to young man when Ford model Ts were current. The earlier models had the gasoline tank under the driver seat and gravity fed the engine, which was a problem when fuel was low and one started to go up hill. One solution was to go up the hill in reverse, but another was to drill the fuel tank cap, install a bicycle tire air valve, and use a bicycle pump tp pressurize the tank when it was low. Later versions p moved the gas tank to ahead of the dash board a bit above the engine. Crashworthiness was not consideration of those days I think.
