Were there any P-40's in North Africa or Europe? I thought they were too slow and limited to low altitude due to lack of turbo chargers to face German fighters.
The C-123 was a glider they put engines on also. Apparently they were being developed when the Army nixed the glider program in the early 50’s, so Fairchild put radial engines on ‘em, later jet engines outboard also. A few buddies jumped out of them, but I never got the chance. Mid 70’s
