And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

This car has 2-80 Air Conditioning: Roll down two windows, drive 80 mph
My first car had that. Wasn’t a problem when I lived in San Bruno and commuted a few miles to south city. But then I moved to Dallas and it was hell during the summers.
My wife and I were talking about this the other day when the blower went out on my classic '02 Durango. As someone said above, it was a lot better when we had vent wings and floor vents. We didn't know the difference. Only the preacher had A/C on his Olds. Cost $500 to get a new blower and resistor but I can't work under the dash any more.
Got a 73 Dodge club cab and an 89 Ford F150 inline 6. Both have side window bee scoops and hand cranks. Grand kids get a kick out of them. Told them it's how we used to make AC.
Kinda like my ol' '82 Jeep, except I have wing and floor vents too.
ReplyDeleteI just realized there are a lot of people alive now who have never rolled down a window or dialed a phone.
ReplyDeletea friend bought an old flatbed truck and his kids were fascinated by the roll-ups.
DeleteMy moms number was all 8s 9s and 0s - it took a minute and a half to dial her number!
DeleteIt's been a few years, but the directions are backwards, if A/C means "window open".
ReplyDeleteNo sir, that appears to be the proper direction. At least on the driver's side.
DeleteYou must be younger (not driving much at that time) than the one replying to your comment.
DeleteIt does appear to be the driver's side. :)
The rotation would be correct whether left or right winda.
DeleteMy Dodge turns one way, and my Chevy turns the other way.

ReplyDeleteBack in the Bay Area days we called it "280 Air".
DeleteTwo windows down, eighty MPH.
That looks very much like a Red Green modification.
ReplyDeleteWe always called it 455 AC but same difference…

ReplyDeleteHaven't thought about this in years, going out with the wife after work and taking a drive to cool off.
ReplyDeleteAnd sleeping under a fan.
and adjust the side window for airflow.
