Should post this on Sunday, but why wait? Some of us might need to hear it now.

  1. Thank you for this. May I recommend God we need you now,by Caitlynne Curtis and Struggle Jennings? It's the version with them in front of the American flag, on you tube. Thanks, Allan

  5. Ruined a good song!

But then, that's what happens when music becomes artificial, and performers become glittery.

It's all about the glitz, golden lucre, and pseudo adoration of a star-filled audience.

Was this at the Grand Ole Opry?

They and their ilk absolutely DESTROYED what used to be called, Country and Western music, and/or Folk and Bluegrass music.

I'm very fortunate to have grown up in a Southren community when the ORIGINAL Grand Ole Opry was still performing in the Ryman Auditorium, and there was no shame or embarrassment in racial segregation and Confederate heritage.

Some of the pure stuff is still around, but you won't find it in Hollywood or Nashville!

    1. I've a handwritten copy of this at hand. Because my dad used to sing it regularly at the Campus Boulevard Assembly of God, San Angelo, Texas. Sad how things have changed in Christianity. I see narcissistic entertainment, self agrandizement, everything but true reverence, the way it used to be. My memory, anyway. This is all about the visuals with the "music" taking a supporting role. Costumes, seems everyone is wearing one, are inappropriate. Everything here glorifies the "flesh" first, the spirit last. So, my response is decidedly not in tune with most of the others here, except for John Robert Mallernee. I mean no offense, however. Christians have lost their way for the most part. My considered opinion. This display here seems to me rather to promote love of self. Just a thought. We are co-creators, partners of the divine creative spirit; we aren't doing our job. Everything wrong in the world is on us; we are to blame.
