  1. I've a pair of JBL L96s which I bought while in the Navy. Have had them for 40 years. Still have them, but they're put away in their original boxes, as the wife does not appreciate them as part of the living room decor. I take them out every once in awhile and play my old vinyl through them.

  2. good system. retro in spirit but new in execution. that is a Leben integrated amp and phono pre-amp with a Bel Canto DAC. a very sweet sounding system no doubt.

  4. I have a pair of Klipsch, 3 pairs of Bose, a pair of JBLs and 3 Infinity Reference speakers. All plastic, puny things bought at swap meets or pawn shops for chump change. I should say they identify as Klipsch, Bose, JBLs and Infinity Reference. They are not the real deal.

  5. Turntable shouldn't be on the same surface as the speakers.

No matter how good the turntable's isolation is, you're asking for vibrational feedback.

  6. Got a set of Altec-Lansings that are as clear and crisp as they were 45 years ago.
I wonder how many things manufactured today will still be around in 45 years .

  8. I had a set up like that 50 years ago. When I went in the service I gave my albums to a buddy to keep for me. His house burned down. I had close to 300 albums.

  9. That setup is a big fail. The vibrations from the speakers would cause problems for the turntable.
