I got this in my email today: I saw this plane at a small airport near Clear Lake CA. I thought you might find this of the interest for your blog. cheers, Tim McT

I like it, and it is salvageable -- with enough money!

Thanks Tim!

  6. I believe the last HU-16 left Coast Guard Air Station Sacramento in late '79 or early '80...right before I arrived there. So I never got a ride...

    1. It was '79, that plane was at the gate at Elizabeth City, NC the last time I saw it.
I left Sacramento in March of 80.
