And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Photo #25... the grizzly meandering at water's edge with the sea plane in the distance... reminds me of that shocking film "Grizzly Man"... the story of Timothy Treadwell who visited Alaska regularly until he and his girlfriend were visited by one very hungry bear. A terrific documentary. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S4RmKoB0iD8
Would anyone call me a sexist if I said that, in No. 9, the driver of the sedan stuck between the stone walls was highly likely to be the woman in the orangey-red coat and with a backpack in the lower right corner of the photo? Just sayin'.
One of the action shots from the original Mad Max. MFP Something something Police (I'd have to watch the movie again). Having said that, I have redlined it on a bullet fairing bike like that. Ah, the memories (flexes trick knee with artificial joint memento).
Those pictures of the bikes in the snow reminded of one winter I would pass a guy on a Harley on my morning commute. Chains on the rear wheel he would be chugging along doing 20 or 30, he had on so many winter coats he looked like the Michelin Man.
Friday's open road is a surf's up addition. I'll take the red Scout.
ReplyDeleteThe Scout is very nice but the old blue Jeep just makes me feelz sad.
DeleteBut the Jeep does appear to have good bones. I think it's salvageable.
DeleteThey used to have Scouts in the c d f. Rarely used. If you could get one surplus it was quite a deal. Same with dozers. Very well maintained.
Delete??????
ReplyDeleteThanks for another nice start to the weekend! And I'll take #2 for the win today
ReplyDeleteI like the one with the dog.
ReplyDeleteSo does Larry.
Delete#15 Probably the last thing my great Uncle Earl saw. He was struck and killed by lightning work cattle on horse back in 1935 up near Childress, TX.
ReplyDeleteAlways makes my Friday!

ReplyDeleteLots of surf boards with 1 end of the road, but funniest is hair pin bridge
ReplyDeleteI don't get having big letters on the windshield of the motorcycle. I'd rather see the road.

DeleteImmortality. Use it or lose it.
Roll on the weekend.
Always look forward to your Open Rod posts. Got you linked and on my blogroll At The DaleyGator https://thedaleygator.net
ReplyDeleteHairpin turn, WTH thought that was a viable road??? And how was the next photo done? Very disorienting.
ReplyDeleteThat’s the Goose on that Honda super sport from Mad Max.
