  2. Ship Thomas Bloomfield set out from New London, October 1st, 1842. Journal entries by J.J. Thompson, Master.
    (It is a personal journal, not a ship's log.)

    Daily entries include wind direction and strength, notable work done that day, and Long/Lat.
    For the last entry, it is noted no observation made, therefore no position given.
    That plus the winds were backing and the winds freshening indicate inclement weather.
