And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
The science hasn't spoken yet... but it's beyond apparent that if you fly REALLY FAST these flimsy aluminum contraptions can penetrate skyscrapers of concrete and steel and come right out the other side unscathed. Gotta go really fast.
Logically no gear down and nose slightly up would have given best chance of survival. At high speed water is just as hard as sand, both are difficult to land on so Sully was superbly trained and did it right.
Slight sense of drag.
