And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Finally! A stretch over 110! It's not summer in Redding without at least a week of supra 110. And I see there's a cold snap for Sunday. Brrr!
We lived in Redding for six years. Too hot for us and we are now in Crescent City. 52 right now and headed for a blistering high of 59. My brother, on the other hand, loved Redding and the heat. Wouldn't live anyplace else. He said, "It's a dry heat." I always thought it was a hot heat.
When I was young I loved the heat in SoCal. Boating at the Salton Sea when it was 115. Dirt biking and motorcycle riding in the desert. Those Calif girls with bodies like God gave them. Those were the days.
YIKES!!!
ReplyDeleteHot is hot for sure but double up the humidity there and reevaluate your misery level. Just sayin from a Midwest perspective…

I once flew down the coast from northern Oregon to Ukiah California. Severe clear the whole way, except for the fog bank sitting on Crescent City.
DeleteBreak out the parkas. Wouldn't want you getting chilled this weekend.
