Surviving bear attacks simply requires staying away from bears

  2. Doesn’t matter the caliber, the one you have is the one you’ll use, and there is no replacement for shot placement….

  3. Whoever came up with that should be incarcerated.

    1. Mine holds 7 in the tube, 1 on the lifter, and 1 in the chamber. Adding 4 more rounds would make it look like a crazy 3-gun rig. Too awkward. It does have a side saddle and butt cuff that would give me a full reload if time permitted. Goes 10 lbs with reloads. Might be inclined to substitute the Redhawk Mag in a shoulder rig, though.

  4. Had a ranger in Colorado tell me how to identify bear scat. Black bear looks much like dog do, just bigger and darker with seeds. Grizzly scat is even bigger but smells like pepper spray with pieces of teeth and whistles in it.

  5. If chased by a bear, climb a tree.
Now to identify what kind a bear chased you:
A black bear will climb the tree after you.....
The grizzly will just knock the tree over.

  6. So, no option to lever a round into your .45-70 and go to work? I'll work up a new and improved SURVIVABLE chart.

  7. Well trade that Thang in for a 454 Casull. I like a .44 mag as far as a backwoods or hunting pistol goes plenty enough power, easy to handle the recoil one handed or fire faster. Bear may decide he likes your arm more than you do.
