And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
The snowplow/blowers remind me of when my wife and I went to Crater Lake on vacation. It was a week before the lodge opened and they were still getting things ready. They received over 300" of snow that winter, and the road had massive sheer high walls of snow either side of the road that had been cleared. The roadway was a canyon in the snow.
Photo #3 caught my attention. Looks like a 1948 New Mexico plate affixed to the back of the Jeep... in a fairly recent photo. Number 2 in the day was Albuquerque and that is definitely the Sandia mountains in the background. Number 1 was Santa Fe, 2 was Las Cruces and 4 was Roswell. The wiener dog gazing out the front of the VW is my favorite.
Bubble top VW is pretty cool.
ReplyDeleteNice set of photos. Blonde must be the flavor of the day.

ReplyDeletethank you. fridays are the best.
ReplyDeleteThe parade of "Bug" convertibles was memory evoking for me. I was driving a '68 Bug convertible when I met my wife. We celebrated 48 years this week.
ReplyDeleteGreat collection this week!

DeleteIst Jeep - don't do it, it's not the end of the world
ReplyDelete2nd Jeep - Weeeeeeeeeeeeee!
3rd Jeep - I'm in Doll, where we going?

I think #3 is channeling Anne Francis from Bad day at Blackrock.

DeleteThe bubble top Hot Wheels Beatnik Bandit was front engined. Funny how I instantly recall that. https://hotwheels.fandom.com/wiki/Beatnik_Bandit
ReplyDeleteAnyone know the origin of the peanut gas tank in photo 7?
