  1. Yup, used something similar in the late 60s for my kids, though it wasn’t as robust. Also came with a set of wheels to convert it into a stroller. And we survived.

  2. Back about 1971, I was hauling a load of stone in a tractor trailer when an idiot jumped out in front of me and I had to lock them up. Little did I know, seeing as my truck weighed 80,000, I got hit in the ass by a lady driving a Toyota wagon. I ran back and there the lady was with a child in the front seat and both front doors wouldn't open. I pulled her and her kid out though the window and she's screaming about her baby. I didn't see any baby. She had just come from a food store and all the groceries she had were now in the back seat. She's telling me her baby is in the back seat. I opened up the back door and started throwing groceries out into the street. There I finally see one of those child seats upside down on the floor. I crawled in and there is this little guy just looking around with big eyes. He wasn't hurt at all.

    1. Actually, I'm wrong about the weight. Back in '71, the max was 73.280.

  3. I remember those. Very well in fact. My parents got one for me, which was passed down to my two younger brothers. It finally broke with my youngest brother after 5 years of use.

  4. My child seat was a little wooden box between my parents in the front seat of his Model A.

  8. That must be the automatic model, as the one my little brothers used
had a little shifter behind the wheel. It was much faster!
