And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

The Vultee XP-54 Swoose Goose was a prototype fighter built by the Vultee Aircraft Company for the United States Army Air Forces. Flight tests began in January 1943, but the program was eventually abandoned.
My father worked at vultee as a materials specialist during WW2. Vultee was later swallowed up by Consolidated Aircraft.
ReplyDeleteCV also made an amazing liason aircraft. The L-5 (OY-2, USMC designation) is impossible to load outside of CG at or less than max. weight.
