  2. I think first order of the day would be to run back in the house and get your shoes on....to hell with when the cameraman wants to take his picture!

  3. Don't assume some of these folks owned shoes for daily work, they might own one pair and that was reserved to wear to Sunday mass, weddings and funerals, or not own any. Home made leather boots lined with dry straw or hay was more common.
