  1. Painted high billboards in my 20's, 50-60Ft. up in the air. Now as an old Koot, I stay on the ground.

  3. My old journeyman (WW2 vet, about 60 when I worked for him) had a wooden extension ladder. I was scared to death to climb it. First time, I was creeping up it, when he hollered at me to come down. He RAN up that thing, with it bouncing all over the wall, then zipped down it. Looked at me and said, "You have to trust your equipment. There is no reason to fear this if you maintain it." I learned how to maintain it. It was a heavy beast, but no chance of electrocution when using it. I learned to trust it.

At least that isn't lashed bamboo scaffolding.

  6. That's the Chrysler Building in NFYC, built in the late 20's, early 30's. OSHA has created an ocean of sissy's.

  7. I read that the crowning spire atop the Chrysler was built inside and very few people knew it existed. The panel was removed and suddenly this thing began growing upwards while the public below said, "Well... holy shit." Wit the spire in place the Chrysler was the tallest building in the world until the Empire State building beat it a couple of years later.
