And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
All this transpired before I was even thought of, unfortunately. I was 4 when I saw the 'one giant leap' on TV and have been a 'space booster' ever since. My favorite toy when I was very little was a Revell model of the Gemini capsule. Wish I still had it.
I remember this, but I was doing the Hasbro version in the bathtub, or perhaps the outdoor wading pool. I had the capsule, baby brother had the H-34 Choctaw patterned helo.
If we'd had access to a deeper swimming pool, we could have re-enacted the Liberty Bell 7 incident.
"America's Mercury 7 Astronauts".....this isn't the one where the hatch blew off of Gus Grissom's capsule, is it?....
