And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Five 5/8ths scale prototypes were built. The last of them was owned by Planes of Fame Museum. It was destroyed in a crash a few years ago. The pilot did not survive.
Jack Northrup designed the flying wing and when it was cancelled he eventually was driven from the company he founded, Northrup aviation. Before he died, he was taken to the secret hanger where the B2 was being finished and the new B2 was built almost to the same exact dimensions that his flying wing was. A vindication for his vision that was ahead of the technology of his day.
