    1. That's because the backhoe operator broke the wall closest to him, and the lack of structural support there created a torque (due to unbalanced vertical forces) that pulled the chimney towards the backhoe. That's elementary civil engineering.

      As to the WTC towers, there was no lateral force nor any torque, so they fell vertically into their footprints.

  6. Why not just place a small charge on the wall and blast it from a safe distance. Oh no, let's just risk losing a man AND an expensive piece of equipment.
