Drought's Over. Let The Ice Age Begin!

The strongest and wettest storm in this weather pattern will arrive Sunday along the West Coast.

Very heavy rainfall will accompany this storm in Northern California and parts of the Pacific Northwest since it will tap into a potent atmospheric river of moisture.

In fact, according to the National Weather Service, this atmospheric river Sunday could contain a record amount of moisture for October for the Bay Area and central coast.

The Center for Western Weather and Water Extremes is forecasting a Category 5 atmospheric river event for the San Francisco Bay Area, meaning a prolonged and extremely wet plume of moisture is expected throughout the weekend.

  1. Since when can weathermen predict the weather. I've lived near Tahoe for 30 years. Whenever they predict a "massive" or "recordbreaking" storm it's always been a bust. The times they predict just normal run of the mill storms are when we get HAMMERED.

  2. Brother cancelled a trip to AZ from ID as he said all passes to his home would probably be closed due to heavy snow.

    1. Not to mention all the firefighters, although that story seems to have fallen by the wayside.

  5. I think they're saying that storm system that will cross the country and get to Florida by the end of the week. Saturday and Halloween are forecast to be under 80 and maybe even 60 overnight.

    We'll see.
