And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Glacial valley - you can tell by the U shape rather than the V shape of a typical river valley - no doubt filled with ice until only a few decades ago when brutal global warming/climate change/weather melted the ice all away.

ReplyDeleteThis is the Saral Lake in the Neelam Valley of Pakistan. It is at 13,600 feet altitude. Was there ever a glacier there in historic times?
