BOILING LAVA creeps through a valley in Iceland. That flow is moving pretty fast.

  1. So when the mountain burps, and a pyroclastic flow and a bunch of lava come roaring down the mountain side, I guess we will have some fricaseed Icelanders!

    1. Been watching this from almost the beginning(3 mos) and for people that live on an island(made exclusively from volcano eruptions over the eons).....they know what they are doing!

    2. The type of volcanoes in Iceland tend not to do pyroclastic flows.

Now, the volcanoes in the Caribbean? Those bastids are very pyroclastically inclined. Much like the volcanoes in the Pacific Northwest USA...

The volcanoes in Iceland, if they 'blow,' will toss huge columns of ash and fumes up, and will cause severe damage to Europe. Like in the late 1780's, when Icelandic volcanoes almost killed France by blocking the Sun, lowering temperatures and just thrashing the ability to grow crops, which led to the French Revolution...

  3. What a pity. All them people standing around and I didn't see one with a Hot Dog or marshmallow on a stick. My daddy told me on many occassions: Never let a good lava flow go to waste.
