Wow! Didn't roll! I drove bugs and type 3's for years back in the 70's and 80's. the old pre 1969 rear end bugs were not known stunt survival characteristics.
If he had a seatbelt on he wouldn't have left the car. Looks like car came thru just fine. I have yet to roll one of my VW cars, or 11 window bus, or single cab or double cab transporters. Oh I have yet to roll my 69 manx either.
With a seat belt on, old bugs were very good in collisions. Got T-boned by a RAM 250 at 35mph. The vw just bounced sideways . . . It needed a new driver side door.
Walkaway in VWee? Naaa, such a trick is only possible if riding in a 2-cycle Saab - downhill end-over-end.
