  1. For that person, they would be dead if breathing was not a spontaneous action.

  3. My guess is newby with manual shifter, forgot clutch and missed brake pedal hitting accelerator instead. Some folks just can't walk and chew gum. Then again, that kinda looks like Washington D.C.

  4. Not a easy feat to flip a car parallel parking. But this vid shows just how simple it is. That driver better catch a ride in the future.

  5. Nothing but luck saved the lives of the pedestrians that were in that space moments before the car went over the sidewalk.

  6. Some people, when turned looking backwards while backing up, unconsciously mix up Left and Right. Driver hit the gas thinking it was the brakes.

    1. Pedal misapplication for certain, quite common. The "victims" all swear that the car just took off while they had their foot on the brake as hard as they could.

Never heard of the problem being more or less prevalent while backing.

    2. Was it a back-up doo-dad screen that went blank and they didn't know what to do?

  8. My kids went through drivers ed in the last 10, 12 years. Drivers ed does not teach parallel parking anymore. At least at that time.

Sure seems like a great idea dumbing down years of kids driving skills when they are piloting 4000 lb misses. But it isn't all the kids fault, can the instructors even parallel park? Can't teach what you don't know.

  9. I remember directing a girlfriend to an open parking space. She said "That's a handicapped spot."

I said "Maybe they've seen you try to parallel park...."

  10. I can believe DC. The shock of finding a parking spot. It could happen to anyone.
