And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
It's a Giant Grenadier. They can be found in the deeps off the Pacific coast, and they're fairly common. They're about 99% water. very soft, and most likely caught by a trawl net, hence the lack of scales. I went on a deepwater longline research trip once, and when they have their scales, they are a beautiful light iridescent green color. They have very little commercial value. https://duckduckgo.com/?q=Giant+Grenadier&t=newext&atb=v206-1&iax=images&ia=images
