And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
That was the Teheran soccer field Herk. When the rockets were fired manually it worked perfectly. The crash was when the automatic system was used and the forward firing motors fired just a moment too soon.
Everybody actually got out of that crash and the remaining "rocket ship" was de-modified. You can see that outer wing break off right at the production joint outboard of the #3 engine.
A friend of mine used to fly the LC -130s for the 109th airlift wing. He said they often used JATO when in Antarctica depending on the snow conditions.
I went to an airshow in Kalamazoo (does anyone need to know the state?) in the 90s. The Blue Angels were performing and had a Herc that accompanied them for all their stuff and demonstrated this. Awesome climb rate for a few seconds.....
Did a dirt runway take off in a JATO C 130 at Fort Bragg. I think you can do most anything with the C 130. Like a Jeep they can be used to accomplish most anything.
That last video is a "good" landing, as they could walk away. Didn't quite qualify as a "great" landing, as the aircraft wasn't reusable. Back to the drawing board!
