And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Laying down a smoke smoke screen with a B-24, Pacific Theater, WWII
I was unaware that they used aircraft for smokescreens, looks to work. I had a car that did the smoke screen thing, it was a '76 Honda CVCC and the head gasket leaked, huge cloud of white smoke.
I had a '63 Plymouth with the same malady, Rob. When I left my workplace a 5 PM I'd pull out of the lot and floor it I put 2 blocks in every direction out of business. The guys at work nicknamed it the "Crop Duster". Greta Thunberg would have been so impressed!
Looks more like a B-25....2 engines and all....

DeleteIt's a B-25 Mitchell.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely.
ReplyDeleteThere was even a smoke kit for ol' Huey. At the speeds and altitudes we flew we could lay down a lot of smoke. regards, Alemaster
