And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
We used to go up into the Santa Lucia coastal range to watch this. Time lapse highlights the effects but you can see it readily at normal speed. Then watch the 'waterfall' down the other side as the fog deepens.
Grew up in Pescadero Ca about 8 miles inland from the coast. The fog would often in the summers roll up to the far pasture and stop. From the porch you could see the line from fog to sun.
