Impressive, but where do you store the fuel to run it?
I'm not looking at photos anywhere else to confirm, but doesn't the MiG-19 have squared off wingtips? I was going to suggest a British Comet (vomit), but that's only from memory too.
In the wings, of course!
ReplyDeleteI kinda think that the rear fuselage is at the body and fender shop. But the image does convey the size and power of the engine.
ReplyDeleteWhat's the model?
My guess would be a MiG-19 based on the strakes on the wing. Could be wrong.

DeleteExtension cord. Long extension cord.
ReplyDeleteMig-15 sans rear fuselage.
ReplyDeleteMig 17. Wing sweep angle, rounded wingtips, and single Mikulin powerplant give it away.
ReplyDeleteYep. 19 has the large strake on the outboard.
DeleteI realize it's old, but it brings it home to us pedestrians how much these fighter jets are just a few little odd bits stuck around an engine.
ReplyDeleteMiG 17 late model with an afterburner
