And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Worked on a state buffalo refuge as a kid in Kansas. Was awesome. You did not "herd" buffalo as much as bribe them with the bales of alfalfa in the back of the trucks to get them to different pastures. The refuge bordered a giant cornfield.....guess where we found them many MANY times? The state bought a lot of corn from that farmer!!!
Brother in law has three on the front 40, mostly as a tax dodge. They'll tolerate folks standing at the fence and tossing in handfuls of alfalfa, barely. From fifteen feet those guys are monsters, and they can be very ornery. This is not your regular Bossy, and they don't fool around. B-I-L has seen the big one clear a five-foot fence from a standing start.
I never realized they were that big!
ReplyDeleteMine is always having trouble with the pet door too!
ReplyDeleteThat is such a big boy. Makes the Newfie seem small

That's a helluva squeeze! Working bison like that is exciting. Glad I've done it, mostly glad that's past tense.
