And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Anybody remember their mom using this stuff?
I haven't seen any Dippity Do in at least 30 years, but I remember the texture well, because mom would always go to the ubiquitous bathroom jar of it to tame one of my cowlicks.
Hi CW, 'Back in my Navy daze, there was this guy in my Div. named "Dugan." As per SOP in those daze, everybody got a "Nickname" and it would definitely "Nick!!!" His was, if you haven't figured it out by now..........."Dippity-Dugan!!!" Got Gunz??, III%, skybill-out
I dippity-do! Mom would goop me up and roll my unruly curls on beer can rollers and I'd sit under a Sunbeam hairdryer for an hour watching The Carol Burnett Show. I'd end up with glossy helmet head for a week or until it got wet again.

ReplyDeleteI can still recall the smell of that stuff.
ReplyDeleteThat was back when you would be sent home from school if you combed your hair into a DA! Wow, has much changed or what?
ReplyDeleteYeah, my Mom used that stuff on my cow licks too. It was pink, if I recall.

ReplyDeleteYou could smear it in a crack in a window and it would last a couple more years.
ReplyDeleteAnd before that, there was Jo-cur in a tall bottle. Who remembers that one?
