World's most beautiful car (so far). And that color - whew!

  1. Make those wheels 24 inches and you'll have a bidding war with Portland's pimps.

  3. Organic shapes such as that Jag always look best to me...don't like the angular stuff so much. Same with motorcycles...much prefer the organic shapes of my Bonneville to plastic origami.

  4. It is all in perception. My "Most Beautiful" is the 76 Porsche 912. The 911 is a fine car but the 4 cylinder boxer has handling and fuel economy. The engine can be built to 200 HP with ease and it will get 30 mpg. The 911 is a bit of HP overkill.

  5. Literally one of the most beautiful cars I've seen. Probably still a crap engine always needing repairs, but looks great parked.

  6. I’ve always thought that the XKE, along with the XK120 and XK140 were designed with the body shape of silk draped over a reclining woman’s body. Beautiful in both form and function.

    1. Heh.... yeah, I loved the way Jeremy Clarkson used to say that. "Sorry I ran over your dog.... but I have a Jaaaagg....."

  8. Is that original or a custom "new build" car using bits of an original body with modern components?

    1. Yes, it’s a ‘74 E type Jag. Bumpers, hood (bonnet) and paint are custom as is the color. The wheels are also custom and are horrendous IMHO.

    2. Agree the wheels gotta go and the bonnet with the scoop too!

    1. I agree, a big part of the Joy here is nostalgia, and the low pro ruins that.

  11. That color on the maserratti previously, would get my vote...the lines on that maserratti are exceptional

  12. Not with those wheels and the '50s Ferrari grille.

  13. Way back in the 70s, the joke was that "Everyone should own two. One to drive while the other is in the shop".

  14. Pretty sure that was Chip Foose's work. Too bad. He really wrecked one of the truly perfect car designs.

    1. To be fair, he started with a Series 3 E-type, which had ugly bumper overriders and other stuff added to the original clean E-Type design.

  15. Raise your hand if you've ever ridden in a car with giant wheels and rubber bands for tires. Better make sure all your dental work is in there solid.
