And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
You know? I have had a pottery "hobby" for almost 50 years. About fifteen years ago, I decided to stop making clay work in different community studios and have my own home studio. One tool that I purchased when I first opened my own studio was a wet-dry shop vac. For whatever reason, I have almost never used it. I seem to be able to keep clean enough (at least for me) with a broom and a dustpan.
There are many ways to address dirt. Last fall I fired my shop vac up and vacuumed up every bit of dirt, spiderweb and random flotsam on the back patio. Worked great. I love mine.
There is nothing like a wet/dry vac when you have a water leak! It takes awhile but you can get the water out of the rug when you need to. These days we have the small 1 gal size and it's been great when I needed it.
Both of those beauties are better designed than my Ridgid. There is no excuse for how loud the Ridgid is or for the Ridgid's tiny black, unlighted switch in mounted in a black background. Had to build a soundproof cabinet with a remote switch. Would have been cheaper to buy one of these babies.

DeleteI have a Ridgid connected to a homemade dust collection system and a Craftsman for "mobile" jobs. Every shop should probably have a shop vac.
ReplyDelete"This both sucks and blows all at the same time...." - Bart Simpson Indeed, shopvacs are the best.
