And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
$399 That's not a bad price at all for that saw. Since it's amazon my concern would be that it is a "returned" unit. There's been a lot of that stuff going on on amazon. People buy a new unit, then return the box with their old burned out unit inside. Amazon doesn't check it, they just sell it again. Then they make it almost impossible to get a refund or exchange.
I foresee a day that my purchases will be from bricks and mortars exclusively, you know, like the old daze. When you could see stuff with your own eyes and hold it in your hands, and maybe ask a sales dick some questions about it.
Yes. Amazon has become a crap shoot. Better to say the incorrect item was never received, even if they supply a screen shot of it on your porch. Porch pirates you know.
I ordered a package of three water filters, I received three laserjet toner cartridges. For a model printer I don't own. Attempted to get a refund and in the end was refused because I didn't return the water filters... which I never received. Anyone want a set of toner cartridges? I still have them, I've been trying to give them away for a year.
Pretty nice unit. I have the 10-inch version; lets me use my table-saw blades. An uncle gave me his old Montgomery-Ward table-saw (which would cut wood, but was pretty unsatisfactory for any kind of precision work). I used it (maybe half-a-dozen times) to shorten rifle or shotgun buttstocks, prior to fitting rubber recoil pads. Far from ideal; it’s difficult to support the stock properly, and then move it into the blade to get a square and straight cut. I even built a sled that I could clamp the stock onto, before moving it into the blade. Still not ideal. This Dewalt saw lets me shim and clamp or strap the stock down, and the cut. This saw lets me bring the blade to the workpiece, instead of bringing the workpiece to the blade.
I bought one of these, or a similar model, back in the 90s. My wife mentioned that the cost was ridiculous for just a saw, until I told her about the professional equipment I used at a boatshop I used to work for, where a single sawblade cost more than that entire saw...
Have one of these without the sliding feature, I used to cut aluminum tubing and bar stock for sign fabrication for years. Makes dead accurate cuts, but you must have the proper blade (min. 80-100 tooth carbide) and proper clamps! Bubbarust
