Repeat after me....ONE HP is 746 watts, plus losses, or around 850 watts. Which is at least 7 amps at 120 volts. It's a good router. But the mfrs are ALL overrating the actual running HP ratings.
They probably only recognize one significant digit, and would claim that since they are not publishing it as 1.0 hp, it’s factual. But I completely agree with you that it does not reach a full hp in power.
I’ve had one of these for quite a while. Reach for it all the time over the suitcase size box that my dewalt router sits in. Usually leave a round over bit chucked in it. Only accepts 1/4 inch bits but it feels good in the hand and is easy to control.
Have had one of these for years. Great little light weight tool for edge work. Added a larger acrylic base for control and an led light with a 9volt battery Velcroed to the side for routing small lettering and detail work. Bubbarust
