  2. Not all of that is wing. The tips are the floats that fold up while in cruise (less drag in cruise but no lift like a wing), fold down for water ops. Got to see one up close and personal. The owner made it into a "RV" for weekends in remote places.

  4. The flight engineer sat in the small vertical portion of the fuselage that attached the wing. Had to be one of the loudest jobs in the war.

  5. When I first saw a Canso (Canadian-buiot PBY) in the metal I was surprised at how big it was: two more inches of span over a Lancaster!
