And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
What with all the kinds of camo now, it is very interesting old school mil spec woodland camo is still the best, they knew something when it was designed, but only when stationary, like all camo, when your moving it does not work all that well.
Woodland camouflage works very well if there is even a bit of brush between you and what may see you, something with the pattern of dark and light shades in the size of patches of the colors in it.
When I was in the service, we had a guy who was an EXPERT with camo sticks. Give him 5 minutes and he could do up his face and hands to where you couldn't discern anything but an outline of his head at arms reach. Throw on a suit or a poncho, and he WAS a bush! So good, it was creepy!
Have a friend who is like your buddy in the service, he showed how you can do the same, he says the army woodland camie pattern is the best ever invented, i'm a believer after what he taught a group of us kids a couple times, tell you, deer do not see you, had a bobcat walk around from behind a tree i was leaning against along a deer trail, walked right over my legs never noticed me, one deer walked along side me another time, it was a 5 point buck, he must of smelled me but couldn't figure exactly where i was sitting, had lots of leaves pulled up over my body. he bent down real real slow to sniff near my boot, i almost laughed out loud cause he was looking right at me, but had a cammie mesh over my face, i moved my rifle less than an inch to get a start on him cause i figured he was gonna bolt any second, and he was gone like a bullet, so fast its mind blowing, though not as fast as my bullet. That deer tasted extra good.
Horses for courses, patterns for places. I’ve worn snow camo and we wore the woodland camo everywhere else. In Virginia and North Carolina it was fine in the woods, especially with uneven dappled light coming through the trees. Out in the open, especially in more arid and open country it was too dark.
What pattern camo is that? I don't think I've ever seen that one...and it blends in perfectly with his background.
ReplyDeleteLooks awful close to TrueTimber Strata. I have just one rain kit in that pattern.
DeleteWon't find that pattern in any store likely. I recognize it and it is old-school. I had a coat once.
