  4. I would build that with blow out walls on the front and back. No insurance, 800 sq feet and just rebuild as needed. No need for a McManshion.

  9. The key is to design for easy and cheap rebuilding. On Santa Rosa Island, a sand barrier near Pensacola, Florida, there were some single story concrete block houses that have been through 70 years of hurricanes. You just wait for them to dry out, and sweep out the sand. Crude and rude survivors.
