4:27 Update: The turkey is out and resting. I got on the phone to my sister, and probably would have taken it off about fifteen minutes earlier. Internals at the thickest part were 175, so it's cooked for sure. Stuffing is ready. Potatoes are in the oven. We should be ready to go in about a half hour.
Looks like a white supremicists dreams
ReplyDeleteThey only eat the white meat.
DeleteDo not feed the troll.
Deletewow-wee, looks very yummy
ReplyDeleteNicely done! Recteqs are the bomb. Opted for a simple roast with dry brine and herbs and butter under the skin, but regret not putting it on the smoker. Did redeem myself with a couple of ducks earlier in the week.
ReplyDeleteLodge's largest cast iron skillet measures 18 feet across and weighs 14,360 pounds. It is a museum piece.
ReplyDeleteThey used to make a 20" but the 17" is the largest available now.
Looks great, CW!
ReplyDeleteHope your meal was great, I'll give thanks for your entertaining blog and all the fun posts you make almost every day.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind words. The meal was great, and the leftovers will be better!
DeleteTurkey or chicken?
ReplyDeleteI ask you: Can a turkey look any more perfect???
ReplyDeleteI have a 20" Lodge. Won't fit on our stove so it's relegated to camp fires, outside propane burners, or a charcoal grill. 15" is the max on our stove.
ReplyDeleteYour wife likes a 20” in her

ReplyDeleteI used to smoke a turkey every Thanksgiving. When I reheated the leftovers in the office for lunch, everybody drooled. Heh.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to know how that would turn out using tallow instead of butter on the skin. I bet it would be great!
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays C.W.!..Thanks for all the effort you put into this site.
ReplyDeleteI try to check it out every day, your photos that you share are swell!
