And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Too much bs made over brands of pickups. I've had good Fords and bad ones, good Chevys and bad ones. Owned one Dodge and it was actually my least favorite. That being said, if it gets you from point A to point B more often than not, it's a good truck, period! And yeah, I'd drive it, too!
Had a classmate who always bragged about how superior Chevy was to Ford. And yet...his Chevy was in the shop every couple of weeks while the Ford I was driving lasted the four years I was in school with no down time.
Ford came up with a disastrous suspension system back in the early 1970s - "Twin I-Beam". It had an I-beam starting next to each opposing wheel and attaching to the other wheel. The result?
The truck would pitch and yaw uncontrollably. Our biz owned a '73 1800 gal heating oil truck. You had to plan each trip to equalize weight between the 4 compartments, as you could not control it over 35 mph if unbalanced.
Not as much a problem with a '71 F100 pickup (we supplied the local Ford dealer with heating oil - 5,000 gals/yr.) so had to buy from him.
Ford ditched it and the F150 still leads in sales.
No, it's a Ford
ReplyDeleteYes, F.O.R.D. = Fix or Repair Daily.

ReplyDeleteIn general, American made vehicles are NOT that reliable...
DeleteJust saying that shows you have never driven one.

Sounds like bad maintenance. Should have replaced the kingpins and bushings and tightened the steering box nut. Stuff does wear out
DeleteThat's a high class 70's F series!
ReplyDeleteI guess AI doesn't realize that the brake and clutch pedal are a lot smaller than just a brake pedal on an automatic.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I noticed that, too.
DeleteThat said, it's still one fine Cowboy Cadillac.
Wind wings, crank-up windows, manual transmissions, stick-on convex mirrors.
ReplyDeleteI miss the good old days.
Amazon still carries hose hat holders.
ReplyDeleteHad '70s Fords and Chevy. Ford almost let me down once. Used a screwdriver to bypass the fender mount starter selanoid and was right back on the road
