And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? Claude Monet. (1840-1926). French “Boats on the Seine at Le Petit-Gennevilliers, 1872
Anyway. I recall an art appreciation class in college which opened my eyes to the subtle complexities in the impressionist's painting. Monet and Manet being my favorites.
Easy enough to reckon that every painting is an individual's expression of "impressionism". Even cameras with filters, lighting and such mirror the "clicker's" impression of the subject. Friend, just enjoy the pretty pictures or turn the page.
Just FYI: I’m not a fan of these impressionistic paintings.

DeleteObviously he has never seen a major exhibition of Impressionists, like Monet, Manet, Pizzarro, Cezzanne, Renoir, Degas, Morisot, Cassett etc. Pity!
ReplyDeleteWhen we get a chance, we'll spend hours at the Chicago Art Institute where there's a large collection of Impressionist artwork.
