And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Understandable how that happened, Twilight evening, you power along with your chumps faster than the rest of the relatively fluid traffic, and than comes a fresh and unsecured accident place. The guilt is absolutely on the bikers....
Try as I might, I cannot feel bad for the two-wheelers. When four-wheelers stop on a multi-lane road, there's a reason. Borrowing an aviation phrase: "There are old bikers and there are bold bikers, but there are no old, bold bikers."
...and then there are the "motorcycle clubs". Saw worse behavior than that in the northwest Texas panhandle a few years back. About 40 of them from Louisiana according to the patches on their vests.
Those car drivers should have been looking out for those bikers… they deserved and earned that pain…

DeleteGraphic example of why lane splitting is a bad idea.
ReplyDeleteI confess to lane splitting on occasion but just creep by quietly. Relative speed is the key to safety and these guys were idiots.
