And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Actually was able to walk through a C-5 back in the 80's at then Griffiss AFB. Had an Uncle that worked their and got us passes to see an air show. Impressive plane! Also got to see my WW2 veteran father talk to an AAC veteran who was their flying a restored P-51. My dad thanked him for "saving our asses more than once!" Dad was an infantryman in Italy. Utter respect for any and all veterans active or not that have flown and still fly all of these beautiful beasts! Thank you for your service! Can't forget the ground crews, either! Thank you, also!
I saw one of those big cargo jets coming in to land in Monterey. Couldn't believe how many wheels it had.
ReplyDelete28. 24 mains and 4 nose.
DeleteAn old joke from my ancient days in the Air Force.....
ReplyDeleteYou land somewhere, and there on the ramp you see 2 C-5's. One of them is up on jacks. What does this mean?
It means that both C-5's are broken, but the base has only one set of jacks.
