And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
It's been decades since I owned anything produced by Levis. Prolly had some Dockers back in the 90's, but nothing since. "Woke" wasn't a term back then, but that's exactly what they were. That, and their anti-2A views were reason enough for me to find other choices.
And the mention of Dan Goldman is another sterling reason to not buy something from Levis. There are several candidates for Biggest-Jag-Off-in-Congress, but Goldman has got to be among the top 5 choices.
There was a time when you could buy Levi's an inch longer and an inch wider that were stiff as cardboard and had to wash them a few times to get the let them shrink and to soften them up. Now I wouldn't own a pair.
Levis ran me off with their politics years ago, went to Texas Jeans made in Carolina, a great product until bought out by Jocko Willink and they changed them to cotton and poly, now I'm giving Round House a try, make in Oklahoma 14 oz. heavy weight 100% cotton.
I used to buy Levis . But they went anti 2A. and moved to where labor is cheap and workmanship isn't a thing. Last time I looked at Levis in Fleet Farm ,the tag said "Made in Lesotho " ! Betcha those guys work really cheap. Probably child labor .
I've been trying Wranglers because of the political crap, but I've had the stitching at the top of the front pocket went bad, and the fabric near the top of the rear pockets just pulls apart. I like it when you had to break a pair of jeans in, and then they lasted for ever.
Expensive, poor quality, anti-gun and woke......
ReplyDeleteWhat Taminator013 said in spades.
DeleteDan Goldman

ReplyDeleteteen girls in my generation used to buy, wear swimming, and let them shrink to form-fit (pre ladies' jeans).
DeleteBack in my youth, blue jeans (or dungarees) were considered "grubbies" and no one would ever consider wearing them to school or anywhere proper.
ReplyDeleteIn 1965, I was sent home from high school for wearing them to school.
ReplyDeletehad to buy black ones
DeleteMy jeans always had holes in the knees covered with big iron on patches. We played rough.
ReplyDeleteBanned from my school in the sixties, girls had to wear a dress or skirt. Rivets on the back pockets would tear up wood chairs and automobile paint.
ReplyDeleteOn really cold days, girls could wear jeans under their skirts but had to remove them before classes started.
DeleteOwen Wister/"The Virginian" referred to blue jeans as "overalls".

ReplyDeleteThanks for the tips, Dave. The Round House ones look great. Are the front pockets deep enough? My change needs to stay put when I'm seated.
DeleteWhen Levis moved their manufacturing from San Fransisco to Mexico the quality went in the dumper. I switched to Lee jeans and Wranglers.

ReplyDeleteCarhartts. But they seem to be going down in quality too, these days.
