And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. Is she gonna throw herself in? Or be abducted at the last possible minute by the flying saucer?
Yeah, this is the scene in Prometheus where the originator species individual "sacrifices" himself into a primordial river to spread his genetic material on Earth, which in a few million years would lead to the rise of humankind. It was an interesting, but opaque, movie as I recall, which descended into utter incomprehensibility at the end.
Just watched "Prometheus" again last nite. The silly plot really goes off the rails but, boy, does Ridley Scott know how to make a great looking, mega budget sci-fi flick or what? The scene above was filmed at a river in Iceland.
Um... I believe he is seeding early Earth with genetic material. (Prometheus)
ReplyDeleteThey were a strange couple of movies from the Alien franchise.

ReplyDeleteCovenant & Prometheus were both..."Out There"...
ReplyDeleteThe Critical Drinker's reviews of "Prometheus" and "Alien Covenant" are among his best. Absolutely skewers them.

ReplyDeletenow I gotta whizz.
ReplyDeleteIf the Engineers seeded the Earth to create humans, where'd the other animals come from?
